Flu shots
Who wants to see what I made and circulated via email to the employees in my company today?

Trattoria 10
Today we took a client to lunch at Trattoria 10. I've always wanted to go there and i've even tried their food before. For the past several years, I have attended a charity event for the United Cerebral Palsy of Illinois - Prairieland. This charity event was a chef's tasting competition (and silent auction) and Trattoria 10 was a competitor. They always made great food to eat.
Anyway, my client suggested it for lunch and I happily obliged. The restaurant is in the lower level (its too nice of a place to say its "in the basement") of a building on Washington & Dearborn.
It's a quaint little white-linen Italian restaurant with a single yellow flower on each table with a spotlight shining directly on it. Is amazing how that one spotlight creates such a private atmosphere at the table that you hardly notice other patrons.
I ordered an unsweetend tea and Browsed the menu. Today's deliciousness was linear to yesterday's -- my antipasti of choice was butternut squash soup which was thick, rich and downright divine.
My entree was a grilled cedar river flank steak salad. I ordered my steak as my normal medium-rare. It had the perfect amount of seasoning in it, with the salt being the most prevalent. It was complimented with red grapes, radishes, Laura Chenel goat cheese and lemon Olive Oil.
It was perfecto! We didn't follow up with dessert, which I think my stomach thanked me for. I was full by the end of the meal and ready to take a nap instead of head back to the office :)

Smallies & Freshii
I just have a lot of random small things to say:
Oliver destroyed yet another toy to smitherine. I think we had it for 1 full week this time. Groundbreaking.
Have you ever had butternut squash lasagna? My coworker and I wait for it to pop up on the Cafeteria Menu. It's not every week, but when it is available I go crazy for it! I'm borderline obsessed with it. I buy two pieces so I can split it between two days for lunch.
I was at the Aon Center this week at a workshop and they served Freshii for lunch. Hello, delicious! I don't even like wraps so I was concerned if I was going to be able to consume anything for lunch. So I chose their "signature burrito" which is comprised of brown rice, small pieces of BBQ chicken, red onions, sweet corn, jack & cheddar, with low fat ranch dressing. I had this with a glass of green tea and I was more than satisfied! My colleague tried the anti-oxidant salad and she raved about it. So good! I was going to go there to try my sandwich again for lunch today, but it was butternut squash day :)

A view from the top
I give a lot of building tours here at work and the main attraction to those visiting is the roof. Everyone wants to go to the roof to see the unobstructed views of the city. We have a fantastic view of the Sears Tower (or Willis Tower, however you know it as) as well as views of Millenium Park, Lake Michigan and Trump Tower. On my most recent tour, it was a partly cloudy day but I decided to snap a few of my own photos:
The Aon Center (formerly Amoco Building) mimics the World Trade Centers in construction and design. Directly to the left of that building (with the point) is Two Prudential Plaza, followed by Prudential Plaza directly in from of it.
And a view of Lake Michigan and the Harbor
This is a view that contains the former Marshall Fields (now the worlds largest Macy's), the Chicago Theatre, Chicago ABC broadcast station and I think it's CBS that moved in to block 37...? (the building with all of the satellites on it).

my goofy co-workers
Last Friday at least 5 people in my office wore a coral color, unintentionally. It made for a good laugh. Well, to keep up the good spirits of color coordination, an email was sent out to a majority of the office to color coordinate every day this week to see if the executives will notice. And, no joke, we all are doing it. Today is Taupe...
